i have nothing to say but i am bored so here we are.
a couple things i’ve been thinking about lately:
game theory is bad for you and while appeals to historicity are not generally rigorous as arguments it seems to me that game theoretical truths are directly opposed to “ancient” truths about how people ought to engage with each other / the world. (jorbs made a video about this recently which was interesting and reminded me of my deep hatred for game theory)
the occupying forces in Palestine have destroyed every college, every soccer field, and every hospital in Gaza.
people don’t spend nearly enough time reflecting on alienation or what effects alienation has on them
any claim about a universal truth will be obvious. especially if it is in contradiction to another obvious truth
there’s ample evidence that many of the people killed on october 7th in occupied Palestine were killed by the occupying army themselves. that is, despite claiming that Hamas killed over 1000 people, the settler government and media have publicly acknowledged that they killed many of their own civilians and military.
voting in federal elections in the US is a white supremacist action and no amount of claims towards harm reduction or lesser evils can change that: the US government is a white supremacist institution and voting in support of any federal US official is acting in direct material support of the white supremacy they will necessarily support in their position
being a christian is a kind of funny theological posture to have with regards to abrahamic religions. like judaism at least rejects the messianic prophets of Jesus and Muhammad, peace be upon them. Islam accepts both Jesus and Muhammad, peace be upon them, as prophets. christianity just kind of gives up half way. like pick a side
over 180,000 people have been killed in Palestine since october 7th. the ICJ has agreed with what Palestinians have been saying for decades: they are living under an illegal occupation by a colonial state.
it's often said that rap is poetry, which is true. but also most lyrics are poetry, regardless of genre, and the description of rap as poetry is often both an attempt to elevate rap to the level of "art," which it would have without being called poetry, and a naive association of rhyming lyrical arts.

overall kind of disappointed by the new clairo, although “Sexy to Someone” is great. the new james blake / lil yachty album sucks. very impressed by the Common & Pete Rock album. new childish gambino album is absolute ass. new normani is super boring. nathalie joachim’s album is awesome. molly lewis album came out of nowhere for me and is shockingly enjoyable, it sounds like a movie soundtrack and is weirdly not boring.
Souvenirs by Emahoy Tsegué-Maryam Guèbrou is phenomenal. life changing album. i don’t speak Amharic but it resonates all the same, and what little of it i have seen translated has made me feel deeply connected to it. the recording style, religious focus, and fidelity all have a similar feeling to Saved! by Reverend Kristin Michael Hayter.
MOTION by HavinMotion is a great mixtape. very comfy sound.
